SILVERBIRCH SIGNS MULTI-PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH ATARI
SilverBirch Studios will bring award winning PC game to Nintendo DS and Sony PSP handheld platforms
Toronto (April 17, 2007) – Derek van der Plaat, CEO of SilverBirch Inc. (TSX.V: SVB) announced today the signing of a multi-platform development deal with Atari, Inc.
“This agreement with Atari marks the first step in a move to becoming a comprehensive multi-platform video game developer”, said Derek van der Plaat, “We are targeting a pre-Christmas release world-wide and have high hopes for a tremendous success based on the large number of PC downloads”.
N is a unique 2D puzzle/action platform game where the player inhabits a ninja trapped in a world of well-meaning, inadvertantly homicidal robots. The game features over 500 levels, organized into 100 unlockable episodes, and supports over 50 user-created levels made by fans of the game. N received the Audience Choice award at the 2005 IGF awards, and the Audience Sparky at the 2006 Slamdance Guerrilla Game maker Competition. N is available at http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/n.html and N+ will be available on xBox Live, Sony IDE, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Development will begin immediately targeting a Fall delivery. The agreement provides for revenue to SilverBirch in the form of development advances as well as a retail sales revenue share component.
